Lanrex Consulting is a network solutions provider based in North Ryde. We are in need of a Linux administrator as soon as possible. Working as a critical part of a small family like team, you will receive flexibility, room for progression, great location and new offices.

The primary purpose of this position will be to monitor and manage the company's existing LAN/WAN networks and existing Linux based infrastructure.

This is a customer-focused role so excellent customer facing skills are a must. You also need to have strong verbal and written communications skills and be able to remain calm when the pressure is on. You will be required to attend customer sites where required, and also be required to participate as a member service desk teams. Some Windows based desktop and server support will be required.

You will be heavily involved in both high/low level design and implementation of our new CISCO based network and Linux based management systems.

Skills Required:

- Linux administration (Redhat, Debian)
- Strong Wide Area Networking skills including: PSTN, Frame Relay, ADSL, SHDSL, ISDN, QOS, VPN's and Remote Access
- MRTG and NAGIOS
- LDAP, Postfix, Apache
- DNS, Iptables, IMAP, SAMBA
experience with Windows Server 2000/2003 Operating Systems;
- Good written and verbal communication skills – with both technical and non-tech personnel. Good documentation skills;
- Ability to work un-supervised and as part of a team;
- self-motivated and prepared to take ownership of problems;
