This policy applies only to websites and services operated by Deep Grey Labs under the jobreel.com.au domain. This site may link to other websites but we do not control their collection or use of personal information.

Information we collect

In order for Jobreel to provide services to advertisers and job-seekers we collect information of a range of types.

  • Jobreel identifies advertisers by an email address and a password. For billing purposes we may also ask for further identifying information such as your name, company name and billing address.
  • Jobreel collects and stores information provided by advertisers as the content of their advertisements, including company names, URLs, position descriptions and contact details.
  • Jobreel collects and stores "alert" email addresses.
  • Jobreel servers automatically receive and log information from your browser, including your IP address, browser configuration, the page or information you have requested and the date and time of your request.
  • Jobreel sends one or more cookies (small strings of information) to your browser to uniquely identify it.
  • Jobreel records your interactions with links and buttons on our website.

How we use collected information

Jobreel uses the information advertisers provide in order to identify, bill and provide service to them. Advertisers may choose to decline to provide any identifying information to Jobreel, in which case Jobreel may not be able to provide service. Our use of information collected from advertisers may include:

  • Providing services to advertisers, including publication of position advertisements and billing for such publication;
  • Research and development in improving our services and in developing new products and services; and
  • Contacting advertisers

Jobreel uses the information provides by users in order to provide service to them and to provide information to advertisers regarding their advertisements. Our use of collected information may include:

  • Providing services to users, including publication of position advertisments by web or email;
  • Providing services to advertisers, including providing information regarding their advertisment's performance;
  • Research and development in improving our services and in developing new products and services;
  • Monitoring and maintaining our computers and network; and
  • Contacting users

Like many websites, Jobreel uses browser cookies remember who you are and track user activities. Most browsers accept cookies automatically but you can configure yours to reject them or notify you when a cookie is sent. Jobreel may not function properly if cookies are disabled.

Controlling your information

Personal information collected by Jobreel will be used only for purposes outlined in this policy. If we propose to use your information for any other purposes then you will be provided with a means to opt out of the use of your information for those purposes.

Advertisers can view and edit their Jobreel account information at any time by visiting the account settings page. Advertisers may request to have their account deleted via email at any time, which will remove all personal and identifying information from our service, except as required to be retained by law or for legitimate business purposes. Some information may reside on backup devices for a limited period of time after an account is deleted.

Users subscribed to alert services may unsubscribe at any time, which will remove any personal and identifying information from our systems except as required to be retained by law or for legitimate business purposes. Some information may reside on backup devices for a limited period of time after an account is deleted.

Information sharing

Jobreel does not sell or share your personal information with other people or companies except to provide services you have requested, or in the following circumstances:

  • We have your explicit consent.
  • We provide the information to trusted affiliates to process information on behalf of Jobreel. Such partners must process information under agreements to maintain this policy and with appropriate security and confidentiality mechanisms.
  • We respond a court order, legal process or enforceable government request.
  • We believe it is necessary to share information in order to investigate or take action in response to illegal activities; fraud or technical or security issues; threats against the rights, property or safety of Jobreel, our employees, users or the public; potential or actual violations of applicable terms of service; or as otherwise required by law.

If Jobreel is acquired by or merges with another company we will give notice before personal information is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

Jobreel may share non-personal, aggregate information (such the total number of visitors to an advertisment) which does not personally identify you.

Securing your information

Jobreel employs appropriate electronic and procedural measures to protect personal information from unauthorized access or modification. Access to your personal information is limited to employees we believe reasonably need to use that information in order to perform their roles in providing or developing services.

Changes to this policy

Jobreel may update this policy from time to time by updating this page. We will notify you of significant changes to this policy by sending email to your account email address or by placing a notice on this website.

This policy takes effect from March 1, 2008.
